Hand Writing

Hello!

My name is Courtney.  I live in a tiny, dot-on-the-map in northwest Louisiana.  I’ve lived here my entire life.

I’ve been married to my husband, Daniel, since December 2000.    My husband works as an electrician/instrument technician, and in March 2014, he surrendered to the ministry.  He has preached in several churches in the area, filling in for traveling/sick pastors, as well as leading revival services.  We are excited to see how God uses us in His service!

We have three children: Jonah, MyliePiper, and Elliana.  I homeschool them (my oldest has graduated), and while that is the most difficult “job” I have held, it has been BY FAR the most rewarding.  I worked part-time until my youngest was born and then I became a full-time, stay-at-home mom.  I enjoy learning alongside my children, and watching them grow!

But, can I be real with you for a minute?

Sometimes, I have felt like my life has been a “series of unfortunate events.”  It seemed for many years that if something could go wrong, inevitably, it did.  I spent a lot of time questioning why God allowed these things to happen to me or to those I love most.

But, God opened my eyes.  Rather than asking Him, “Why me?,” I started asking, “What can I learn from this?”

And, God has continually, without fail, taught me.

He’s taught me to rely on Him in every single storm of life.

He’s taught me that the things He allows in my life are to refine and shape me into the person He created me to be.

And, now He’s teaching me to share what I have learned with others.

I most definitely do not have all the answers, but I know the One who does.  Blogging has been on my heart for many years, and I finally feel that the time is now.

Psalm 45:1 (NASB) says, “My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

I am ready.

Are you?
